Another fantastic book that I read this summer was An Abundance of Katherines by John Green. The description in our catalog reads: Having been recently dumped for the nineteenth time by a girl named Katherine, recent high school graduate and former child prodigy Colin sets off on a road trip with his best friend to try to find some new direction in life while also trying to create a mathematical formula to explain his relationships.
This book is so funny! And it is full of footnotes. I know that footnotes sound like something that belong in a book you read at school, not a book that is for fun, but the footnotes are what make this book amazing.
An Abundance of Katherines also involves the final resting place of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, whose assassination sparked World War I.
This book has some language that some might find objectionable. If you think your parents might object, then check with them first.
I know I am not doing this book justice at all with my description. But this really is a great book and totally worth your time. READ IT!
