So, the winner for this year’s Rebecca Caudill Nominees was Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick. This was one of my favorite 2008 Rebecca Caudills. Why, you might ask? Well, mostly, it has to be that it made me laugh quite a lot. Also, it could be that Sonnenblick does an awesome job of portraying his characters. The characters are so real, it’s like they could be people in your life.
The main character, eighth grader Steven, has a normal life. He plays the drums in the All-City Jazz Band, and has trouble concentrating in school due to his crush on Renee Albert. This all changes on the fateful day when Steven learns that his little brother Jeffrey, is ill. Although this book deals with a serious issue, it is really an uplifting novel. You should give it a try if you haven’t already.
If you liked Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie, you might also like Notes from the midnight driver. Steven, the main character from Drums, makes a reappearance in this novel. The newest book by Sonnenblick is Zen and the art of faking it.

Notes From The Midnight Driver is an amazing book. I loved so much i read it twice!Once in school, and once at the library. I think that everyone in a loving romance kind of mix up with some action, pick up that book and read it! Abd while your at it, enter the MEDIEVAL TALES @ THE LIBRARY! Im going for #2, and Artist's Dream. I wish to Persuay the life of an interior designer. What do YOU want to be when YOU grow up?
